JOHN JACKSON AND SARAH DOTY AND CHILDREN
I am trying to determine if John Jackson and Sarah Doty's daughters, Elizabeth and Mary Jackson are the ones who married Shotwells in Woodbridge/Plainfield, New Jersey aabout 1741/51.
I understand that John and Sarah (Doty) Jackson moved from NY to the Jackson Forge in Woodbridge. I also know that John Jackson's father, James, was a Quaker as was his wife's, Rebecca Hallett's, brother Richard Hallett, all of NY.
I am trying to determine if this Mary Jackson, daughter of John and Sarah, is my anecestor who married Abraham Shotwell in 1741/51 in Plainfield, Union County, NJ. Abraham Shotwell was a Quaker.
An Elizabeth Jackson married his brother/cousin, Joseph Shotwell about the same time.
These 2 daughters of John and Sarah Jackson were born from 1724-1728 and my Mary Jackson was born about 1727-1730.
There are alot of coincidences here that lead me to believe that my Mary Jackson is the daughter of John and Sarah (Doty) Jackson. I have eliminated many other Jacksons.
I need to find proof of my suspicions.
Anyone out there that can help me?
thanks,
martie
