Hi, I'm looking for the Samuel Doty, probably the one born c. 1733 who married a Keturah__?
Their daughter Anna born c. 1755, was my gggg grandmother. She married James Parker born c. 1752 maybe in VA, about 1780 or 1781 probably in KY. They had five boys all born near Boston, on Lick Creek in KY. James was in the Revolutionary War serving from 1777 to 1780. Children were:
Johathan Pleasant Parker b. 21 Nov 1781, who married first Mary Newman 25 May 1804 at Nelson Co., KY they had one child. Married second to a widow, Mary "Polly" Redmon Pinkstaff-Helpingstine. (My lineage).
Samuel Parker b. 1782, married Sarah Newman on 8 Sep 1808 in Butler Co., OH.
George David b. 1784, married Sarah Jane Allen on 28 Jul 1808 in Butler Co., OH.
James Mercer b. 1887, married 1st a Susannah Randall on 22 Oct 1811 in Butler Co., OH. Family stories said he married an Indian Princess the second time. No proof.
William b. 1794, married 1st a Rachel Johnson and 2nd a widow, Sophia (Briscoe) Brookhart.
It is said that James and Anna moved from KY to Butler Co., OH in 1803 because of indian uprisings. Son Samuel served in the War of 1812 and was impressed with the Illinois Territory and persuaded his parents to move again. They arrived in IL on 16 Oct 1818 and bought 40 acres in what is now Honey Creek, Twp., Crawford Co. IL. They sold their farm to son William 13 Mar 1827 and moved to Coles Co., IL. Anna on 12 Oct 1830, and James after 1835, both are buried at Parker Cemetery near Westfield in Coles Co., IL.
Any information you could supply would be much appreciated, as you can see I have many gaps.
