I wish I could help you but I am also looking for a Mary Jane Doty. We both posted a query in the same month and I have not had a reply.
My Mary Jane was born in PA or TN about 1833-35. She married a James Profy/Brophy and their first son was born in 1855, John James Brophy; a daughter Matilda Jane was born in 1858 in Iowa. Mary Jane died in 1860.
I am trying to find out who her parents were. The name Mary Jane is quite common in the Doty descendants and the Cheroke Indian ancestory. I am just beginning my search and had to let you know someone did notice your message, me.
