The Doty family is one of 166 names that appear in "Index of Heads of Families to the FourthGeneration", found in the back of the book, "History of the McKinney-Brady-Quigley Families" by Belle McKinney Hays Swope. The McKinney, Brady and Quigley families were among the first Scotch-Irish settlers of the Cumberland valley of Pennsylvania during the mid-1700's.Most were members of the early Presbyterian churches founded at Big Spring, Middle Spring, and Rocky Spring.
Ms. Swope's book was published in 1905 in Chambersburg, PA.It provides an extremely detailed genealogy of each generation the original three families from the time they arrived through 1905.She also includes some very interesting biographies on some of the earlier ancestors.
We've just completed "digitizing" this book. It is posted on "The Quigley's Bridges Heritage" Web site at: www.protosight.com/family_tree/quigley's_bridges.htm
