I am a Doty via Mary Jane Doty. Mary Jane's brother, I believe, is Wendell Doty. I am ccing this information to other Doty researchers - and possibly long-lost cousins among the mix. Maybe they can help fill in some gaps. It's pretty lengthy!!
This is what I know:
My Great Grandma, Florence Williams, was born on June 19, 1882.
Her parents were Mary Jane Doty (b. 12-12-1860 or 1861, d. 10-27-1930 in Kellyville, Oklahoma) and A. Frank Williams (b. 12-8-1860 or 1861, d. 10-27-1949).
Mary Jane Doty and Abraham Frank Williams were married February 2, 1881, in Beecher City, Effingham County, Illinois. The justice of the peace was George Brown and the witnesses were Mrs. Brown and Wendell Doty.
Wendell and Mary Jane's mother was Sarah Louisa Doty (whom I hear was very dark, and said to be at least partially Indian - Cherokee?) and their father was Moses Doty (son of Joseph Picket Doty and Catherine Ann Parr).

And the rest leads up to Edward Doty, of Mayflower fame:

Thomas Doty, b. 9-23-1777 in South Carolina, d. 10-7-1842, Wayne Co., Ohio & Rosannah Soward
David Doty, b. 12-8-1742 in Piscataway, d. 8-13-1824 in Knox Twp., Vinton Co., Ohio & Rachel Pickett
Daniel Doty, b. 3-9-1702, d. 1785 and Louisa --?
Samuel Doty, b. 1643 in Plymouth, d. 10-1715 in Piscataway, NJ and Jean Harmon, m. 11-1678 in Pisc.
Edward Doty (b. around 1600, d. 8-23-1655) and Faith Clark (his 2nd wife) - b. 1619, m. 1-6-1635
From what I can gather, Florence (aka Flora) married 3 or 4 times (!). Her first husband had the last name of Wilson. I don't know what his first name was (does anyone?). They were the parents of my grandmother, Viola Violet Wilson, as well as Golden (b. 3-6-1910, d. 7-25-1924) and Jerry Wilson.
Florence had lots of brothers and sisters, and I know that they moved by covered wagon from Illinois to Arkansas, and then onto Kellyville, Oklahoma. Flora's siblings are:
Goldie M. b. 4-1-1885 - married Alan ??
Moses b. 9-1-1888
Rosa b. 2-23-1892 - married a man with the last name of Bair
James b. 2-17-1895
Lovie b. 7-26-1897
Beatrice (aka Bea) 1-9-1901 - married a man with the last name as Lane
Webster (aka Web or Webby) b. 7-24-190?
Flora had these other relatives, too, but I'm not sure how they are related. I think they may be cousins. They were Wilson, Mora (Cora?), Moses and Helen Doty. One of these people drowned in a lake in Kellyville, Oklahoma when s/he jumped off a platform. Helen Doty and Moses Doty were sister and brother.
