My father was Willie Alman Dotson born in Haywood County, NC, in 1903.His father was Jefferson Lee Dotson born probably around 1870-1890 (unsure exact date at this time), also in Haywood County, according to my father's only surviving sibling.Jefferson L. married Martha (Mollie) Naomi Wright.I have been unable to find a census record showing "Jefferson Lee Dotson" from 1880, 1900, or 1910.There is, however, a "Leander" Dotson heading a household in Haywood County on the 1910 census. The listed family members on the census resemble closely the names of my father and his siblings.
My dad's surviving sibling says that her father's name was "Jefferson Lee Dotson" and not "Leander Dotson."
