Elizabeth Maude Harris Dotson, 87, of the Rheatown
community, Greene Co TN, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at
her home.
Mrs. Dotson retired from Greene Manufacturing and was a
homemaker and a farmer.
She attended Stone Dam United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Dotson was the widow of Nile Dotson, her husband of
61 years who died September 23, 2001.
She was born September 24, 1921; and was preceded in death
by four children, Haskell Dotson, Linda Dotson, Judy Dotson,
and Susan Dotson; a grandchild, Katrina Dotson; a great-
grandchild, Jessie Hensley; a sister, Gladys Dotson; and
two brothers, Dana Harris and Harry Harris.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law,
Norena and Phil McCrary and Jill Kendrick, all of Chuckey,
TN, and Jackie and Donnie Martin of Jonesborough, TN; one
son and daughter-in-law, Denver 'Buddy' Dotson and Gail
Morgan of Greeneville, TN; six grandchildren and their
spouses, April and Dwayne Johnson of Jonesborough, TN, Amy
Lane of Greeneville, TN, Rhonda and Gary Hensley of
Chuckey, TN, Russell and Laura McCrary of MS, Chris Martin
of Gray, TN, and Jerome and Jennifer Martin of Yokusuka,
Japan; eleven great-grandchildren, Brandie Anderson,
Nicholas Lane, Heather Lane, Natasha Johnson, Joshua
Johnson, Todd McCrary, Seth McCrary, Hunter McCrary, Holly
McCrary, Haley Martin, Sebastian Martin, and Jasmine
Martin; a great-great grandchild, Sophie-Alex Lane; two
sisters and a brother-in-law, Jessie Crisp of Limestone,
TN, and Charlotte and Ray Kruger of Jonesborough, TN;
several nieces and nephews; and her very special friends,
Mary Toth, Aletha Nelson, and Wilma Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2009, at Jeffers
Funeral and Cremation Service.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon,
July 28, 2009, in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Robert
Kariuki and the Rev. Vivian Franklin will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Randy Dotson, Jerry Ripley, Steven
Ball, Haskell Dotson, Tim Hensley, and Jim Canning.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Crisp and Eddie Jennings.
Interment will follow in Mount Bethel Christian Church
Cemetery.
