I think that Doss was changed from Dause. See the 1850 Henderson Co. , TN census, p 396, #11-11. Mary Dause is shown as head of household. Her daughter Elizabeth Stinnet is shown with her Stinnett children, Thomas, James and Mary E. Elizabeth is my GG grandmother Elizabeth N. Doss Stinnett Snow.
I've been trying to find data about the Doss line from that point back and about Elizabeths husband, Samuel Stinnett, without any success. Gene Snow gchlsnow@aol.com
