My Great Aunt Cleo (Princess Cleopatra Doss Schoolfield Bassham) gave me your name when I was down visiting her last week. Aunt Cleo is doing the Doss family genology for our family and got me started. She showed me the newsletter magazine that she receives from ya'll and I was reading the article about William Doss. I noted that there was some confusion about who William Doss' father was. Aunt Cleo is sure it is Joshua, Jr. but I noted in the article there was a line from a will of Robert Doss bequeathing property to "Willam sone(sic) of Anne" could it be that William Green Doss b.1844-d.1924 is the son of Ann Doss? I don't know Ann Doss' birthdate so I could be wrong. Right now I am trying to find out for Aunt Cleo about Eziekel Doss, Joshua, Sr.s father, to see if we can go back from there. I don't believe we are descendents of the German Doss branch but of the English and possibly Irish/Scot Branch (there were a lot of Doss' in Ireland also spelled Dosson).
Any suggestions about the possibility of Ann Doss being Willams mother?
