Hi Karon, I don't know who Lula is, but thought this might be her brother: Marion Co. Ala. 1900 soundex (DD-A10), 62-2, James L. Doss, b. Oct. 1858, 41; Lucinda, wife, 42; Patiense [sic], 15; Prince L., 11; Paris O., 9; Gloma A., 6; all b. Ala., film hard to read, no other info legible. No Lula here, but this is a Doss family in Marion Co.: 1860 census info for this family: Joel, 34, b. AL; Martha A., 36, b. NC; Malina J., 8, James W., 4, Julian K., 4; Geo. W., 11 months. BM3-144: 1870 census, Marion Co. AL: John [evidently record says John but clearly it's Joel], 46; Martha 45; Martha J., 18, James K., 15; Joseph W., 15; George W., 9; John W. 1. (the enumerator made a real mess of this one). BM3-144: 1880 census: Joel, 50 or 56, AL/VA/KY; Martha, 52, NC/IRE/NC; Julis King, 23; James Westley, 23; George W., 20; Johney, 14. I wonder if that child Malina in the 1860 could somehow become Lula by 1880? If you find her, would you please tell me who she was? If you want more on this family, e-mail me. Libbie Griffin
