I think he must be related too but I don't have any real data. Hamlett Doss (1797-1876)
had 5 sons who lived to adulthood: Joel J, Hopewell W., William A., Henry Lee, and Perry A. Joel, Hopewell, and Perry died in Alabama. William apparently died in the Civil War. William's children Thomas, Gabriel Hamlet and Riley Doss went to Oklahoma. I know Riley was in Okla. by 1892. I think Thomas was there first. They also had an uncle, Henry Lee Doss, who came to Oklahoma. He died near Chickasha , Okla.
Jan. 15, 1892. His wife was Wiltha Ann Clements. Since your guy had a sister named
Wilthie I bet these are the parents. Look in
Oklahoma records, or Tuscaloosa Co., Ala. Sorry I don't have any real connection. I have looked through all my
notes, but no John Hamlet from 1867.
