Doss Family Genealogy Forum

Libbie, I am back but not with very much new information. I looked back at the 1820 census, which is very poor quality printing. I have decided for the females the following: either 2 or 3 0-5, 1 15-20, 1 20-30, and in the 60-70 column it almost looks like a 1. I do not know who all of these people are, but some researchers say the Petermans often lived together, and they all had large families. But at this time George had a two story log house. The Overton County Courthouse burned, so there goes many records. I do not know who Elizabeth Peterman is.Since no males are listed, apparently she is a widow with small children. I do not know who her husband could have been. I searched for Ambrose Doss/Sarah Thurman and found that she is the daughter of Richard Thurman, born 1745, Prince Edward, VA., died 1803 Pittsylvania, VA. She is the second child and has 11 siblings.
