I cannot say for sure. I have not been able to track Ezekiel in the census except for 1840 Lawrence Co Alabama where he is listed with a son between the ages of 15-20 - which would work for a son being born in 1825 - being 15 in 1840. In the 1850 Lawrence Co Alabama census is James Doss, age 25.

The first name of James for Ezekiel's oldest son, do you know who he would have been named for in the Doss family? I am primarily a Thurman researcher (Ezekiel's first wife was Francia Thurman) and James is not a Thurman name.

Did you James Doss name any daughters after his mother, Francis?
