Re: Doss - Williams Connections to present

My gr-gr grandfather William R. Williams said that either
he or his father were taken in by a family when they were
small. One family story said the parents died sometime
during the Civil War. He was born ca 1854 and if it was his father then it much have been ca 1820 or thereabouts.
His grandson could not remember the name of the adopting
family. I have attempted to research this Williams line
for about 20 years and he has been my brick wall.
In desperation my brother tested DNA for Williams and
turned out matching the Doss surname for all 25 alleles.
so I am trying to find the correct family we belong to.
Thank you so much for replying to my query and please
help if you can.
Velma Williams gr gr grandaughter to Wm. R. Williams
