Hello, Do you have any links to sites that are good for searching for Civil War information? My GGGrandfather was James "Jim or Pepper Jim" Doss. It is my understanding he was a Union soldier. this is the information that I have for him: Military Service: Civil War Veteran Enlisted, October 14, 1861 Co. H, 1st Regt., KY Cavalry volunteers Commanding officer was Col. Frank Wolford Discharged, December 31, 1864 My Doss lineage is: William and Nancy Brown Doss, William born in Buckingham Co. VA, died in Fentress Co, TN Fanny Doss – Do not know if she was married. Jim’s “story”: He was related to the Hatfield’s (and McCoys) but for his protection was raised using his mother’s maiden name.)
