Colleen: I am related to an Ambrose Doss in Ky. Also, a civil war re-enacter and living historian. I have found 15 union soldiers in Ky. Regts. with the surname of DOSS. Thomas Doss is one of them. Also, Pendelton Doss and a Madison Doss. They all 3 joined the 19th Ky. Inf. on the same day...10/15/1861 ; and in the same place..Harrodsburg, Ky. I got the info. off a civil war data base. Could all three be brothers? The civil war was not just a war of brother against brother..but one of BROTHER WITH BROTHER. ( I am also rel. to 6 Robbins brothers in 20th and 9th Iowa Inf. Regts. ) Kentucky, being a border state, had union and confed. regts. in the war. I do not know if the three soldiers listed here are rel. to Ambrose Doss or not...but sure trying to find out.email me at scrusal@netins.net Steven C. Russell
