I am looking for info on John Dosch b. 18 Nov 1817 in Germany (possibly Bavaria). He came to America at age 18 and settled first in New Orleans, then Vincennes, IN, Evansville, IN, and then Cincinnati, OH, where he worked as a tailor. His wife's name was Sophia Bollinger and I know they were married before their daughter, Franciska, was born in Ohio in 1848. He won land in a lottery hosted by the Cincinnati Swiss, and moved to the new town of Tell City, IN in 1858. There they operated a general store, his wife and daughter running it after his death in 1864. I believe there may have been relatives living in Cincinnati for quite some time, as I have been told visits were made regularly to visit family there. I would like to find any info on John, his wife, what ship he may have sailed on, where in Germany he may be from, and what family either of them may have had in Cincinnati, Evansville, or elsewhere.
