I'm writing a book on the descendents of William Gambrell Sr. with Lucille Gambrell Hammett of Honea Path, SC.
I've attached my info on George Washington Dortch & Alice Eugenia Gambrell, but I need help filling in the later generations! We want the book to be as complete as possible!
Anything you can add: Place of birth, Wives & Husbands names & dates, etc would be of GREAT help!!!!

Dudley L. Dortch, Sr. 86, founder of the Dortch Baking Company passed away August 27, 1964 at his home in Austell. Although totally blind, Mr. Dortch established the bakery in southwest Atlanta in 1928 where he was active until his retirement in 1960.
Born in Texas in 1878, he spent his youth in Battle Creek, Michigan, where his family moved when he was small. In 1902 he moved to Nashville, TN, where he was employed by the Southern Publishing Association as a book binder. The next year he was married to Miss Ludie Loftin. To this union was born five sons and two daughters. Due to failing eyesight he gave up his publishing work and bought a grocery business, which he operated for 21 years.
The family moved to Atlanta in 1928 where he purchased a small cooie business. The firm expanded its operations to Birmingham, AL and Jackson, MS where his five sons with him as partners, operated the plants. Mr. Dortch was well known in business circles throughout the southeast for his keen interest in civic affairs.
