St. Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Chronicle, Dec. 18, 1903, Obituary. Died at her home in Batavia, December 12, 1903, Mrs. George H. Wilcox, aged 38 years, 3 months and 3 days.
Sarah C. Door was born in Batavia, Illinois, September 9, 1865. She was married in November, 1896, to George H. Wilcox of St. Charels, spending the first four years of married life in this city. She returned to Batavia with her husband in October, 1900, where she made her home until the time of her death. For a year and a half she had been a great sufferer, being able to to out but little. She was very hopeful and bore her sufferings patiently, wishing to live if she could be of any help or do any one good, yet willing to go if it was God's will. She was a member of the Congregational church, always anxious to attend it services and join in the work, and grieved because her health would not permit her to do more. She was a very kind and loving nature, tender hearted to a fault. Her friends were many and dearly loved.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one brother, Charles E. Dorr of Batavia, two sisters, Mrs. L.A. Crane and Mrs. C. P. Friese, both of Chicago. The funeral was held at her home at 141 Houston street Tuesday, December 15. Interment in the east side cemetery at Batavia. (Posted as a courtesy, not related.)
