I, too, am seeking information on John Sheldon Dorman. The information I have is he married Mary clowes circa 1760. She was born on 2/7/1739 and died 1/18/1791. they had four children: Gerhardus born 8/23/1772; Nehemiah born 7/31/1774; Elizabeth born 7/29/1776; and John born 5/22/1779. I also have some Delaware military documentation of his service in the Revolutionary War If you make a connection to him, send me an e-mail and I'll be happy to pass it along.

I don't have any further information on his lineage but will be making a trip to Delaware archives soon and may be able to get something there. He is also mentioned in the Milton, Delaware history with a write up on some of his activities prior to the war.
