I know this is a 7 year later response to this post, this is quite a fun topic for me. As a direct descendent of Barney Doris (or at least one of them), the story I have been told is that he came over with his sister from Ireland and arrived in Philadelphia (the date of which I do not have specifically here with me so I can only hazard a guess/recall a dim memory of 1850's/1860's ?). Moving south he eventually settled in Georgiaand many of his descendants in the Atlanta area. Anybody else have something about Barney Doris?
