My name is also Edward James Doris and I also have a son Kevin. I believe I spoke with this Edward once when I found him on the internet back in the mid 90's. He was coming out to southern california (where I was living at the time). I wanted to hook up but lost his information. I also had an Uncled Ed Doris in California. I ended up moving back to the east coast. There is no relation here, but I thought it was a coincidence.

Ed Doris
Son of Francis Daniel Doris (his father was Bernard F. Doris married to Elizabeth Murray). Bernard's name was Doherty or O'Doherty. He changed it to Doris. Bernard and his sister were made wards of the state and his sister was adopted by the doris family in the Boston area. He went from foster home to foster home and then ended up in Tennesse in some sort of farm labor situation. He ran away and found his sister in Boston with the Doris family. They took him in and it was the first time in his life that he was loved by someone. Although they didn't officially adopt him, he took their name. He went in the army and served in the Spanish American War. He married Elizabeth Murray and had eight children (my father was the eigth) I never knew what happened with the Doris Family his sister was with, but I would like to know more about them.
