Hello Louise, my grandfather's surname was Dorgan from a group living in Sheerness, Kent. I think it started with a John Dorgan who arrived there in about 1840, possibly from Ireland though I can't find his birth certificate. I don't know how many Dorgans came over to England from Ireland, but it's not a common name evenin Ireland so they may all be related. If anyone has any further information on the Sheerness part of the Dorgan Family I would be very interested.
