This is difficult as it is complex to explain, if you are a DORGAN then your help is needed to STOP a development project upon a TRUE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE. The State has confirmed this as well but for reason's that shouldn't be posted here.
1796 was when this aera known as NAVY COVE/PILOT TOWN was first settled by Andrew Dorgan latter by Timothy Dorgan whom served in Preservation of our Nation's INDEPENDENCE as a COMMANDING OFFICIER aboard Gun Boat No. 149 (only 2 participated) it is rumored at this time it gained it's name for it also was a U.S. Naval Station. Throughout the next Fifty year's The Dorgan's as other's served as Bar Pilot's navigating Ship's through it's Famous entrance Bar's. The Civil War and the Famous BATTLE OF MOBILE BAY thrusted Navy Cove to the World's Stage as the "Blockade Runner's" came and went never to be caught. After Admiral Farragut made his Famous "Damn the Torpedos" and commenced his Mobile Bay campaign, he landed over 16,500 Troop's at Navy Cove which then became the Official staging aera for the fall of Mobile. Many Dorgan's and other Pilot Family member's are buried here along with Native Am, African Am. Slave's that helped build the Fort. . .NOW it has come to this. To Bull Doze over Grave's is sickening just for the sake of Development makes it even more appalling, WE NEED ALL HELP that can be mustered, we have posted a site with a petition for all to use.
