Yes indeed there is a Catholic connection, Navy Cove's Pilot Town has a "Family Cemetery", THE Original 14 Mobile Bay Bar Pilot's (1796-1916)and their families all are buried here. Timothy Dorgan married Joanna in the State of New York, had children in Balimore, Md. - that relocated here on Mobile Bay...Andrew, Timothy, John Daniel,Agustus Proal and other's. Would you believe they were Irish? of course. Timothy Dorgan 1740-1781 fought in the Revolutionary War his Son or Son's Andrew and Timothy fought the final Battle's of the Revolutionary. Timothy was a Commanding Officer aboard Gun Boat No. 149 in THE WAR of 1812, BATTLE of NEW ORLEANS and the Apalachicola Bay War. All of these Dorgan's came from the North East coastal communities, it appear's some came South while other's stayed locally and some headed West through Canada and MN., Dakota's with some in Washington State. A John Dorgan was the PILOT of the C.S.S. Morgan during The Civil War. This Place I speak so dearly of is under attack again by Development (nothing against making a little money) but there IS 5 Family Cemetery's here and this developer is to Bulldoze over our Family grave site's is apalling. The State of Alabama will do nothing!! and have gave their blessing's to the Developer. THIS IS SICKENING and we need help with this matter...maybe the Nat'l Historic Association or someone to stop this atrocity. Please give me more name's from your Dorgan Family line's and I will cross check them with what I have of the Dorgan History on my computer.....it's from the Book. Sincereley, Christopher M.
