Dear Capt. Dorgan Dr Mary Dorgans book is for sale. I saw mention of it on the Dorgan Forum and her address.I called her a couple of years ago and while she was visiting Naples Fl , We met. I reviewed her book. We agreed our lines were not connected. I wish they were. My John Dorgan was a poor Catholic fleeing English oppression of the Potato Famine. Her people were also fleeing . She was fortunate to go to Ireland and research. The Catholics were not allow to own property not even a cemetary plot in sacred ground. She did find records of her line and unusual ownership of a cemitary plot. Is your Dorgan line Catholic? Did many Irish Catholics fight in the Revolution? I have one chanch for Revolutionary history, its my Willey line from New England. Ive Done my Husbands lines from N.C. , Va, S.C. and colonial Maryland. He ended up with 7 GFs who fought in the revolution . If you are doing the South let me know. The South is easier than the North to research. Diane
