I was told that the Legend has it, the Dore's may have originated in France, in Puy-de-Dome area. There is a mountain in that area called Mont Dore, also a health spa by the same nameAround 1066 there was a great movement of population in that area and they could have come with William the Conquerer or escaping religious persecution, and England would be their closest escape route, settling in Wiltshire, England. This is where my descendants came from. They were born in Highworth, Wiltshire Co.., England. A Richard Dore along with a brother and 2 sisters, settle in the Southampton Area, New Brunswick, Canada.
