One of my greatuncles was Nicholas (Nicola) D'Orazio. He was born in Castelmauro about 1907 and came over as a young boy with his parents Michael (Michele) and Lucia (nee LaFratta), plus his siblings: Philomena (Filomena), Peter, Antonio (my grandfather) and Joseph. His sister Anita was born in Massachusetts.
Castelmauro is in the Campobasso District of what was Then Abruzzi e Molise Province, which was split by the Italian government in the mid-1960's.
Pap D'Orazio considers himself Abruzzese.
