My grandmother was one of eight children of the Doran family of Deloraine, Tasmania.
She was born about 1877, there were two sisters older than her.
I think the birth order was:
Margaret, then Agnes, then my grandmother Ellen Adelaide, Tom, Will, Emily, Alice and Louise.
I have heard that there *may* have been another girl before my grandmother, who died in infancy, who was given the "Ellen Adelaide" name first. My grandmother was given the same name later, so I have heard. This becomes quite confusing when trying to track birth certificates!
The family moved to mainland Australia circa 1880, settling in the Eaglehawk area of Bendigo, Victoria.
I have some further information on the marriages and subsequent children of each of the above-mentioned children for those who may be related.
Does any of this information strike a chord with anyone out there?
