DAve, I found some inf in letters from Blanche Hipkiss of Alberta, Canada. David Dopp was a civil war veteran, unknown which side. He received a pension. Blanche was about 14 when David passed away at Brookville, Kansas, so about 1926. She does not know where he was born. Then she says he was born Dec 5, 1860 or 64. (This cannot be--perhaps another David, son of DAvid? She talks about DAvid Sr. later.) His children were: 1) Barnett Elieu Dopp, born in Colorado Jan 24 1884. He married Sarah Jane Nichols on May 14, 1914. (From Vital Statistics, Edmonton, Canada.) He died 9 Sept 1950 in Ft. St. John BC. 2) Della Waters. Della Gentry married a man named Warren? Watters. When he died she married a brother or cousin named George Watters. they lived at Brookville, KS until he died around 1950. She moved to Colorado to live with her sister 3) Letitia called Minnie. She eloped to Colorado with a cowboy named Bruce Gentry. Barnett went with them and the family was split until 1933. 4) Edgar Von Dopp was raised by his married sister. He was born April 12-14 1889. His mother died when he was a few days old. He died in a suburb of Denver, maybe Longmont, about 1968. From 1918 to early 60's he lived in Canada. Blanche was born Nichols, dau of Sarah Jane, but used the name Dopp. Her ancestor chart says Barnett was her father. Sarah Jane was born 11 Aug 1894 in Litchfield Minn. and she died 10 July 1968 in Calgary Canada. I must not have put this in the Newsletter, since you do not have it. Marie Forehan
