Hello, All!
I am another of the zillions of Jacob Doom (1755-1798)descendents out there. I'm a research buff (I write for the Chicago Tribune) and I'm looking for stories about John Bennett (who was the son of Henry Doom, brother to the well-known Harvey and grandson of Jacob)I'm also especially interested in facts/stories about John Bennett Doom's son Adam, who is my greatgrandfather.
My brother--Stephen Kass--just returned from a trip to Kentucky where he visited Doom Chapel and was surprised to see our names posted on a family tree on the wall! He was able to visit several ancestral burial sites, and visited the spot where Adam's wife's skirts caught fire while she was sterilizing laundry. (Tragically, she ran down the hill to her death.) But details on John Bennett and Adam are scarce. I'd love to add stories to the photos we have of Adam. Thanks, in advance, for your help!
