Smith DNA matches Doolin DNA 37/37

I have been reading all the old queries about the 4 Doolin brothers who sailed from Ireland to the GA coast in the late 1700's. There is a tale in my family about brothers sailing from Ireland in the late 1700's and jumping ship at Tybee Island, GA, on the coast. They made their way into middle GA and settled.

The strange thing is that my relatives surname was SMITH (my maiden name). I've tried for 20+ years to trace my Smith lines but can't go back beyond 1810 GA, the birth year of my great, great grandfather, Allen Smith in GA. His Smith ancestry can't be found. I've been to SC, NC, VA, Ireland and all over the UK. Zilch!

My only recourse was to get a male Smith cousin to submit his Y-DNA. He did and we have a perfect match at 37 markers with the Doolin line. I don't match any Smith's among the 600 or so who have tested.

I believe I am a Doolin and not a Smith. I've tried to get in touch with Carl Doolen who wrote most of those queries about Daniel Doolin and his brothers. His email doesn't work. Help!
