I am a descendant of Matthew Doody, b 1812 d 1888, who immigrated from Cobh in County Cork and lived in McLean County, IL. Cobh is a small town on the island in the middle of Cork Harbor. It was called Queenstown during the famine but the name was changed back to Cobh (Cove) when Ireland regained her independance. Matthew married and had several children: John, George, Margaret Brigid, Michael, William, James, Catherine and Matthew Jr.
