Hello Chuck:

Morris is almost universally written as Maurice in Ireland. The Maurice forename is fairly rare in Ireland.

For Maurice Doody M 1855 +/- 2 yrs, somewhere in Ireland, I found 1 rcd, 1855, Co. Limerick.

For Maurice Doody B 1831 +/- 4 yrs, ditto, with the father's forename unknown, I found 3 rcds: 1829, 1833, and 1834, all in Co. Limerick. Father's respective forenames were Maurice, Patrick, and Patrick.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
