My Great-Grandmother was Catherine Mary Doody of Staffordshire (b. in Hanley, I believe, in 1852). Family lore has it that her family was originally from Galway, Ireland, 1 or 2 generation before that. She married John Ward, a grocer, of Hanley Staffordshire and had 2 children, my Grandfather John Doody Ward (b. 1893) and my Great Aunt Catherine (b. 1895). Catherine Mary was Anglican and was in some way connected to a family called Usherwood, perhaps in Ireland, but I am not sure.
Does anyone have any other information?
