I know it's been years since your posting, but I may be able to help. My Donovans are from Olean. My great-great grandfather is William Donovan, b: 1841 in County Cork. He was the first of his family to leave County Cork and emigrate. He was followed by his brother Michael and a sister, Catherine. I do not know where in Cork they are from. Their parents were Bernard Donovan and Catherine Arundel, but I have no information on them. They could be from the Bantry area. I would love to find out for sure. William's son Charles is my great-grandfather. He was born in Olean and lived all his life there. Charles's son Harold is my grandfather, also born in Olean. Do any of these names sound familiar?
