This might be a long shot...Are you talking about Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa by any chance? If my memory serves me right, he did marry a Mary, but I can't remember the names of his children. Jeremiah was a very famous Irish nationlist - credited (I think) with starting the Fenian movement. He moved to NY in 1870 (?) after being released from prison in England. When he died in 1914 (?) his body was returned to Ireland and something in the region of 14,000 people went to his funeral. If anyone has further information regarding Jeremiah's lineage, I would be very interested to hear from them, as apparently my family's surname used to be O'Donovan Rossa, but the O' and Rossa were dropped 3 or 4 generations ago. As an aside, the surname Donovan originates from County Cork in Ireland. I think you'll find that ANY search on Donovan's will lead you back there! Regards, Gerald
