From the Chatsworth Plaindealer Chatsworth,Livingston,Illinois JAMES DONOVAN April 3, 1908 The people of this community were shocked on Thursday morning to learn of the death of James E. While Mr. Donovan's condition was known to be of a serious nature, and his health had been poor most of the winter, few realized that the end was so near. Since that time he had made his home on the farm where his death occurred. On October 15, 1887, he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth O'Neil, of this city, who preceded him to the other world, February 10, 1903. The union was blessed by six children, three daughters and three sons, namely; Harold, Mary, Nellie, James, Alice and William. In addition to the bereaved children, deceased is survived by his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. Donovan, of this city, three sisters and three brothers--Mrs. Kate Scheible, of Kankakee; Mrs. Etta Hart, of Ottawa; Mrs. Nellie Deaney, of Rantoul; John, of Chatsworth township; Timothy, of Kankakee; Thomas F., of Joliet --who, with a large circle of friends, mourn the loss of one honored and respected by all who knew him. The funeral will take place tomorrow (Saturday, morning), leaving the home at about nine o'clock. Services will be held at SS. Peter and Paul's church, conducted by Rev. Father W.J. Burke, at ten o'clock, and will be attended by the members of the K. of C. and M.W. of A. lodges, of which deceased was a member.
