Thought this may be some help to Donovan researchers. Charles Franklin Donovan was born March 1, 1875 to David Donovan(b.1830,Va.) and Sally ?(b.1845,Va.) in Shenondoah county, Virginia. Charles married Elizabeth Brumbaugh in Shenondoah county, VA. near Hudsons crossroads in 1898. They had 5 Daughters Leafy, Lucy, Twila, Mary, and Julia. They also had a son who died at an early age. They raised there family in Rowlesburg,Preston county, W.VA. along the Cheat river. The children of David and Sally Donovan, according to the 1880 census, were Floma-b.1858, Franklin-b.1860, Thomas P.-b.1861, Mary C.-b.1866, Ellsey-b.1868, John B.-b.1870, Sattie-b.1874, Charles Franklin-b.1875, Curry-b.1876, and Lewis-b.1879.
