Source: Dubuque Telegraph Herald, July 28, 1915, p. 10, col. 3 AGED WOMAN IS CALLED BY DEATH MRS. CATHERINE BURKE PASSES AWAY AT THE HOME OF HER DAUGHTER Mrs. Catherine BURKE, aged 74 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dan DONOVAN, 103 South Locust street, Tuesday evening at 8:45 o'clock. The deceased was a native of Ireland and for many years had lived in Garryowen. Ten years ago she came to Dubuque to make her home with her daughter. The infirmities of age and a general decline resulted in her death. Mrs. BURKE was a faithful communicant of the Catholic church and a devoted wife and mother. Two daughters, Mrs. DONOVAN, of this city, and Mrs. Cecelia RECKINGER, of Garryowen, and one son, John, of Garryowen, are left to mourn her passing. The funeral will be held from her daughter's home to the Cathedral Thursday morning at 7:00 o'clock and the interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery at Garryowen. ------------------ Please note: As far as I know, I have no affiliation with this BURKE family.
