Some additional information re: Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa. According to his recollections his mother was Nellie O'Driscoll the oldest of 11 children. She married Denis O'Donovan Rossa (c. 1818 when she was about 15). Denis O'Donovan Rossa was of Carrig-o-grianaum. Nellie's father was Cornelius O'Driscoll who lived at Resacreena. The landlords of Renascreena were Hungerfords -- Jeremiah O'Donovan recalls them as good, quiet English landlords. The Hungerfords actually rented a piece of Jeremiah's grandfather's land (which O'Driscoll had owned at one time) as a quay to allow barges to land sand for all of his tenants.

The "Recollections" referenced in my previous post is where some of this information comes from. You will find genealogic information spread throughout the book although there is actually a chapter on geneaology -- you will need to read the whole thing. It is somewhat scattered and archaic language, but should help in some respects.

In the meantime, it would be nice to stay in touch via e-mail, because our family also is trying to trace our ancestry back to Jeremiah -- he is certainly an interesting character.

Look forward to hearing from you,
