DearWilliam
Welcome to the frustration club.

I do not have all the information with me at work but will email you again.

There is a lady in Basingstoke who has specialised in London Donovans.

Have you tried the London Family Archives in North London?

If your family are traditional Irish, they will stick to calling the first boy after the Paternal Grandfather, the first girl after the paternal Gm, the next boy after the maternal GF and the next girl after the maternal GM

I think this is why people are baptised one name and during their lifetime are called smething else - this is done deliberately to confuse genealogists.

If they came from Cork the majority originated in the area of Skibereen, Drimoleage Klonakilty and Ross Carbery

If your ancesters were in the Royal Navy I have lists of Donovans registered.

Very Best wishes
