Donohoes at Moneen, Clontuskert, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon

My great grandfather Michael Donohoe was born in the townland of Moneen, Co Roscommon on 6 May 1871. His birth certificate gives his parents as Michael Donohoe and Ann Donohoe (formerly Brooks). Soon after, they emigrated to Stockport, Cheshire, England and I have traced them through the UK census until 1901. In 1881, Ann gives her place of birth as Malta although in later censuses it says Ireland. Ann seems to have been married previously as she had a son called James Crosby, born in 1851. Family anecdotes says her previous husband was a soldier and she travelled with him overseas. (Her Malta birth could indicate a military father also).

I've looked up Moneen in the Griffith survey and on the 1901 census and there are several households of Donohoes listed. I intend to follow up later this year with research in the birth/marriage registers at Joyce House in Dublin and in Roscommon. In the meantime, does anyone have information on the Donohoes in Moneen, Clontuskert, Co Roscommon (particularly 1850-1880 - but any period at all)?
