Hi,
I am Richard Michaels, great-grandson of Charles W. Gerthung/Gerthing & his wife, Sarah ANN Donner. I am the grandson of their son, Barnhart William Gerthung. Sarah was the daughter of Conrad Donner & Mary Zimmerman. I, too, have been told of a connection to the Donner Party, but have never found it. I have information on the Gerthung/Gerthing Family. I have found their village of origin & found his birth certificate.
