Pat,
Since I noticed your message, I've been doing a bit of digging, and it would appear that "your" Donnellys (John Donnelly from Bentinck) are related to "my" Donnellys in Smith Twp, Peterborough - by marriage at least.

Ann Jane Donnelly married George Donnelly from Milbrook on 11/12/1879. George's parents were George Sr. & Mary Donnelly from Millbrook. I'm reasonably certain that George Sr. is part of the rest of the Smith Twp Donnellys (i.e. children of James & Mary). At least, that is what I'm currently trying to determine. Certainly, he was born in the same place as the others.

What I'm wondering is - are they related only via marriage, or does it go deeper? The name John is certainly common in my line.

Drop me a note if you'd like to compare notes.
