Courtesy of other researchers, I have a James Donnelly in my chart, born 1811 in Taghmon, County Wexford, Ireland. This James was the son of James Donnelly and Judith Brien.
Children of James & Judith: Martin (1802-1878) m. Catherine Collier, Catherine (b.1805) m. William Coady, Margaret (b. 1808) m. Gregory Neville, Walter (b. 1810) m. Mary Kennedy, James (b. 1811) and Judith (b. 1815).
At least one child of Martin's (Moses b. 1837) emigrated c. 1870 to southern Ontario, Canada. There appear to have been other relatives in the area.
I don't know much more about your James, but hopefully this helps. If you have any details to share, same would be appreciated.
