My great great grandfather Patrick Donnelly came to USA in private packet by way of Providence, RI in the 1850's. Patrick was born in 1833, married to lady by name of Anne McCormack (B: November of 1836) Believe they had 3 children: William Eugene Donnelly B: IL 1859, Mary Donnelly B: IL 1860 and my great grandfather James Francis Donnelly B: in Fairbury, IL in 1862. Anne died in 1865 and Patrick returned to Ireland and married her best friend Mary Carroll. Together the second marriage produced around 5 children...these children all settled in K.C., MO and Atchison, KS. Many are buried in St. Mary's Cemetary on 23rd St in K.C., MO
Have been unsuccessful in tracing Patrick or Anne back to their homeland in Ireland. Many of the Catholic churchs they attended have had fires that have destroyed info.
