I had a John Donnelly come over early in the 20th century, I presume. John was the brother of Katherine Donnelly that married Michael Byrne in Kilkenny in 1875. Katherine's father was Patrick, from County Longford, a member of the R.I.C. Whenever a Byrne relation would immigrate to Philadelphia they would start working at Uncle John;s saloon. Bt 1920 most of the Byrne's went to Atlantic City and got very good jobs. William ran the gas pipes and got plenty jobs for others. Uncle John Dommelly was always known as a very generous person to his relatives. Heard he left money to the Philadelphia Archdiocese when he died. Any Connection?
