Colleen:

My father's family began in this country in Manhattan, I think. They bad become a Bronx family within a generation or two, and then my father (Robert) and his brother Harry moved to Staten Island around 1930. They both worked for what was at one time the Tenement House Department of NYC; that was later changed to the Department of Housing and Building, and I think it now may be just the Building Department. Anyway, I was born on Staten Island in 1934. I only knew of one other Donnelly family there besides my own, and I knew of them only because we used to field a lot of wrong numbers for them. I remember that their names were Bob and Helen, because those were my parents' names as well.

I doubt that this helps you much. Good luck.

Jim Donnelly
