Searching for Tabitha Donley/Donnely/Donnelly who married Daniel BRIGGS. This family was living in Louisiana at the time of the Civil War. The father and a son died in Louisiana, the mother took the two remaining live children both girls, boarded a flatboat headed N on the Mississippi. The oldest daughter Sarah Elizabeth Briggs is my g grandmother. The mother died and is supposed to be buried at Cairo, Ill. The two girls were placed in an orphanage.
